Living on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean and the Kogelberg Biosphere, creative inspiration is always within my reach and breath. With my soul grounded in nature, my observational senses have sharpened—allowing me to witness the wonder in every moment.
Painting with beeswax and pigments, and using fire as a brush, is painting with the soul and intuition. This process, called Encaustic, is an ancient Greek form of expressive art.
The rest of the time, my Canon is firmly in hand as I follow the deep blues of the ocean, capturing her wild dance and, on rare occasions, her playful touches of the land. The ocean is my mother, guiding me and inspiring a sense of wonder.
